It was a very exciting week in the life of this here photographer. Not only did all my new lenses and camera arrive (the postman and I are best buddies), but I had the pleasure of shooting two beautiful families on Saturday, which meant one thing: trying my new toys out! To say I'm happy would be an understatement. It's utterly incredible to have the picture in your mind actually come to reality through a chunk of glass on the end of a black box. Not only that, but both families were so lovely and patient with me getting them to do crazy things like stand with their backs to the light (who ever taught us to take photos squinting into sun??). I was honoured to capture their love for each other in the small way that I can.
The Soulsbys are a gem of a family. James--3 and a half--is a bundle of extraverted energy ('Sophie, did you see that? Did you see that? Sophie throw me the ball. Sophie look at me!), while Cameron 4.5months is a much more reserved fellow (and cute to boot!). Mum and Dad are clearly great parents and love letting their boys hang out, play cricket--James happens to have incredible hand to eye coordination, seriously--and enjoy the big wide world. It was so much fun playing around with them for the short-time I was able to.
